In the final seconds, unbridled joy broke out for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández forced home a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola in a state of despair and provided the temporary Chelsea manager a unforgettable moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane could be billed as the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch in class, making the memory of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old throughout his career.

A Stark Contrast in Experience

On the City bench was the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with an unparalleled CV for football's giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match.
